Frilly Flower Pots

I have been seeing fabric covered flower pots all over the crafty blogs lately. I love anything and everything covered in fabric, so I had to try it out for myself. Luckily, I recently acquired a bunch of flowers that needed pots. Now this is what my front porch looks like, happy and colorful:

I did one fabric covered pot, then added rick rack to another pot to coordinate. To those of you who have covered flower pots in fabric, I have a question: How do you keep the fabric from getting really dirty? Dirty or not, I still think it is cute!

  1. Cute! I would think you would need to use modge podge or varnish over the fabric to keep it clean and fresh?

    1. Thanks, Jenna! I did use mod podge over the top of the fabric, too. Maybe I didn't use enough.

  2. You had better spray or brush something inside and. If not the pot will mildew. I chose to use something called Tripe glaze. It make it shiney and last longer. Wanda

    1. Good thinking, Wanda. I actually only covered the outside of the pot (just up over the top edge), so the inside is still terra cotta. But I probably should find some sort of glaze to go over the fabric. I'll have to see what I can find. Thanks for commenting!
